Sermon #234
We come to the eighth chapter of Romans and we unpack in particular verse 1: There is therefore now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. This verse carries the full weight of the gospel and the promise of our assurance of God's grace, and should be in the heart of every Christ follower.

Sermon #65
Do we focus on the flesh, or do we focus on the Spirit? It's an ongoing battle that we as Christians face every day. This week we will look at three ways that God's spirit speaks directly to us, and ways in which we can more keenly hear Him. So grab your Bible, open it to Romans chapter 8, and join us as we become more focused on the spirit.

Sermon #561
This week we begin to look at the parables of Jesus, and why he told them. In the parable of the sower we see four different types of soil, and only one of them produces fruit. The question before us today is, which of these soils describes us? Are we the hard-packed pathway with the hardened hearts against the truth of God's word? Do we have rocky soil in which the seed springs up and withers under adversity? Is our faith choked by the cares of the world? Or do we receive the word of God and understand it, and yield an abundance in return? If your faith is not yielding fruit, which of these soils do you think describes you? Probing questions that demand our consideration are before us today.

Sermon #400
Today in Paul's letter to the Philippians, we find out what the source of his joy is, despite his imprisonment. We find that Paul can find joy in his circumstances by rejoicing in the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. This is the central focus of everything that we do as Christians. When our life is hard, when we endure suffering for a season, even when we are persecuted as some are in other countries, we can find joy because we have an eternal hope in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Sermon #233
For the Born Again Christian, Paul's struggle between his sinful flesh and his regenerate spirit as recorded in Romans chapter 7 is all too real. But we can take comfort in knowing that this struggle is an indication of the grace that is already at work within us.

Sermon #63
What is Sanctifying Grace, and how does the Holy Spirit work within us? Today we continue our series titled "Theology of Ministry" and look at Paul's words to the church in Rome as he describes his own struggle with sin. It's gratifying to know we are not alone in our struggle. So grab your Bible, turn to Romans chapter seven, and join us as we look at Sanctifying Grace: our need and God's provision.

Sermon #560
There are two burdens that we experience apart from Christ. First is the burden of our sin, or the weight of the guilt of sin. The other is for those who depend upon religion to bring them to God. They believe if they follow the rules of man-made religion, they will make it to heaven by their own efforts. Both of these are equally burdensome. But Christ invites us to take up his yoke, because when we do, he bears our burden for us - both the burden of sin past and future, and the burden of man-made religion that insists we follow their impossible standard. Christ invites us into a relationship with God the Father freely, as he himself has paid the price for us.

Sermon #399
Throughout the Summer of 2020 we will be going verse-by-verse through the book of Philippians, the letter written by Paul to the church he founded in Philippi. In 2020 we have seen a lot of hardship through global pandemic, racial clashes and riots, political instability... It's been a tough year. Yet our joy comes from a source external to us. Paul, imprisoned in Rome, found joy in his imprisonment because of the continued spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And so my hope and prayer is that this letter will encourage us all to embrace the joy of the gospel even in our current circumstances.
