We come to the eighth chapter of Romans and we unpack in particular verse 1: There is therefore now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. This verse carries the full weight of the gospel and the promise of our assurance of God's grace, and should be in the heart of every Christ follower.

Friday Jul 14, 2017
Friday Jul 14, 2017
We begin our Summer of 2016 sermon series called "Practical Theology" with this question: Why do we need theology? What is the purpose for examining the doctrine and theology of our particular denomination? The people of both congregations provided questions based on this: What does the Methodist Church believe about ________, and why? If we are going to call ourselves Methodist, it behooves us to know what it means to be a Methodist.

Tuesday Jul 11, 2017
Tuesday Jul 11, 2017
In today's world, it is an unpopular thing to defend the Biblical view of marriage. Yet God's word is unchanging and in today's episode, recorded at the Pitman Grove Camp Meeting, we take a long look at some disputed and controversial scriptures as they pertain to the Christian model of love and marriage.

S05E04 The Armor of God pt. 2 (Ephesians 6:10-20)
Friday Jul 07, 2017
Friday Jul 07, 2017
When it comes to spiritual warfare, few things are more effective than the use of prayer. Considering how often the people of the Bible prayed and God responded, it is surprising that we do not pray more often, even though we are called to pray at all times in every situation. Continuing the examination of the whole Armor of God in Ephesians 6, this is part 2 of a two-part message delivered on July 2, 2017 at Pitman Grove Camp Meeting.

S05E03 The Armor of God pt. 1 (Ephesians 6:10-20)
Wednesday Jul 05, 2017
Wednesday Jul 05, 2017
Many Christians don't like to admit it or even think about it, but we are in a spiritual battle for our very souls. Spiritual warfare is not physical and doesn't call for physical protection but spiritual armor. In today's reading from Ephesians, Paul describes how the believer is to put on the full armor of God, and we break down what each piece does in the life of the believer. This is part one of a two-part message recorded at Pitman Grove Camp Meeting on July 2, 2017.

S05E02 Wages and Gifts (Riches in Romans pt. 2)
Monday Jul 03, 2017
Monday Jul 03, 2017
This week we continue our look at the Riches in Romans with an examination of what it means to earn a wage, vs. the idea of receiving a gift. When we receive a gift, our first response is not "What do I owe you," but rather the love and thought behind the gift is appreciated for what it is. In the same way, when we receive the gift of God's grace we ought not think of what we must do to earn it, particularly since it has already been given freely.
