The Gospel in One Verse (John 3:13-17) Part B

We've been looking at what the gospel is, and we get that the gospel is the good news.  But sometimes in order to understand the good news, we first have to hear the bad news.  Today as we continue our look at the Gospel in one verse, we are going to see why the bad news is really bad, and how that makes the good news that much better.

The Gospel in One Verse - Part A (John 3:13-17)

John 3:16.  We see it everywhere we look, at football games and golf tournaments, there's usually someone holding up a sign that says John 3:16.  Even non-Christians are sometimes able to quote this verse.  As Christians, we understand that this single verse of scripture holds the entirety of the gospel, and yet many of us are confused as to what the gospel is, exactly.  Today on Guerrilla Christianity, we will look at what the gospel is, why it matters, and how to find it in its entirety in this one verse, John 3:16.

Believing God’s Provision (1 Kings 17:8-24)

From the very first verses of the Bible, God established himself as our great provider.  He provided for the animals, and for Adam and Eve.  He provided a sacrifice for Abraham and spared his son Isaac.  And in today's reading we will see how God provided for Elijah through a severe drought and famine.  It's an account that reminds us that God still provides for us even today.  When we have seasons of drought, God still makes sure we have what we need, and his promise to us is that he will always provide.  Our faith in him can be bolstered in this, that if we seek his kingdom first, everything else will be taken care of for us.  It's an amazing promise that we can depend upon.
