Follow Me (Matthew 4:12-23)

Have you ever wondered why the accounts of Jesus calling the disciples differ between John's gospel and the others?  Well, today we look at this very question as we examine the way Jesus calls us all, and how we respond to his call.  This message was recorded at Hudson UMC in Pedricktown, NJ, on January 26, 2014.

Come and See (John 1:29-42)

There are many churches today that are welcoming churches, including the two that I serve.  But today I challenge the congregation at Ebenezer United Methodist Church to be not just welcoming, but invitational.

New Beginnings (Matthew 3:13-17)

In the Methodist tradition, there are few who can actually remember their baptism.  But we believe that it's not about what we do, but what God has done.  In today's message, I challenge our congregation at Hudson United Methodist Church to remember their baptism, and to rejoice.

Follow the Star (Matthew 2:1-12)

On this Epiphany Sunday, we consider two questions: 1. Where is God's light leading me? and 2. How bright is my light?  (This is the rehearsal recording for this sermon, as services were cancelled due to freezing rain and icy conditions on the road.)

Joseph the Dreamer (Matthew 2:13-23)

When we say "Joseph the Dreamer," it's usually the young son of Jacob that comes to mind (See Genesis 40-42).  Yet here in Matthew's Gospel we find that Joseph, the stepfather of Jesus, is spoken to in dreams.  What can we learn from his obedience to the dreams God gives him?  This episode was recorded on January 29, 2013, at Ebenezer UMC in Auburn, NJ.
